Making bags for the “Day of Karin”
On December 8th, 2016 the Pathfinders and older Timberwolves assembled bags at Food Outreach for their “Day of Karin”. The scouts were joined by other volunteers in the area to help make gift bags for people affected by HIV/AIDS or cancer. Pizza and beverage were provided and everyone had a terrific time helping others in our community.
This community service event is for all sections of the 66th Confluence. It will be held January 22, 2017 from 12 noon to 3 pm. We along with other scouts of our area will be cleaning the National Cemetery of Holiday Decorations. Please arrive by 12 noon, (parking takes time) the opening ceremony begins at 1 pm. It normally takes about two hours and happens in all weather. We ask that no one leave until Event Staff staff dismisses us. Last year we saw a herd of deer.
It will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125. Everyone should meet at the north-east section of the Flag Pole grounds. i.e. the Flag Pole ground area closest to the entrance of the Cemetary
On 2016/12/03 the Otters and Timberwolves went caroling on Cherokee Street along Antique Row. Among the many carols that were sung by the scouts were “12 Days of Christmas “, “Jingle Bell Rock”, “Feliz Navidad”, and “Frosty the Snowman”.
Santa stopped by and joined in a rousing rendition of “Here Comes Santa Claus”.
After we were finished caroling, the Saint Boogie Brass Band stopped by and played us a few songs.
An enjoyable time was had by everyone!
The Pathfinders are doing their monthly community service Thursday, December 8 at 6 PM at Food Outreach, located at 3117 Olive St. St. Louis, Mo 63103.
We will be filling/assembling gift bags for people living with HIV/AIDS or cancer.

We are excited to be learning archery from MDC this weekend as well. We are also going to be teaming up with the scouts from BSA Troop 601 to do some badge activities.
